1 Smoothie + 2 Shakes

I love smoothies and protein shakes. I love making them in the winter when I tend not to eat as many fruits and vegetables as I should (give me allll the cheesy bread), but I love them in the summer by the pool, too.

I've been drinking more and more smoothies recently because it's the only meal prep I can actually get behind. I love just dumping things in my Magic Bullet and having something healthy to sip on during slow afternoons at work! Plus, unlike meal prepping veggies/meats/rices/etc, smoothies don't get soggy! You double (or triple!) any of these suggested recipes and save them for 3-4 days. Definitely a win-win!

 

P.S.: For your reference, I'm referring to a blended drink with fruit when I say smoothie, and no fruit when I say shake! Enjoy.


 THE CLASSIC GREEN SMOOTHIE // I've always been a fan of green smoothies. They taste great and make me feel soooo healthy. Am I the only one that immediately gets a healthy vibe from people I see drinking green juice? I aspire to be like them. Enter: the classic green smoothie.

-1/4 avocado
-1/2 cup spinach
-1 scoop vanilla protein powder
-1/2 tbs chia seeds
-1/4 cup peaches
-1/2 frozen banana

Bright green and healthy! (I've also started to add 1/4 of an apple into some of my green smoothies. SO GOOD!)

PEANUT BUTTER CUP SHAKE // This is definitely my newst addiction! It's so simple to make and tastes exactly like a Reese's PB Cup. OMG! Plus, you can add in some banana or some strawberries if you want to make a PB + Banana shake or a PBJ shake!

-1 tbs peanut butter
-1 tsp cocoa powder
-1 scoop vanilla protein powder
-1/2 cup ice
-1 cup almond milk

CINNAMON SHAKE // When I want a shake but am not too hungry, this is the one I reach for first. Maybe you had a big breakfast or lunch, or just want something healthy to have after a workout. This is cooling with a kick of cinnamon, and definitely tasty.

-1 scoop vanilla protein powder
-1 tsp cinnamon
-1 cup almond milk
-1/2 cup ice

It's like a cinnamon bun in a cup!


All of these recipes are just my suggestions on great tasting smoothies and shakes! The best part about recipes like these is that they are totally customizable. Hate peaches? Add mango. Allergic to peanut butter? Switch it out for a nut butter that you can eat! Or don't make these smoothies at all, I'm not the boss of you!

  8. These all sound good. I'm living a low-carb lifestyle so smoothie making is a task for me. But I love putting avocados in my smoothies. :)

  9. I'm really into smoothies now too! I had an oatmeal cookie one this morning. It was made with apple, banana, oats, cinnamon, pea protein powder, and oats! So good.

  16. I love green juice, but I don't think I've ever tried a green smoothie. I'll have to check it out! (PS - If you haven't tried a turmeric smoothie before, you totally need to!)
