Weekly Recap

I did a terrible job of posting this week. I've been trying to tell myself "quality over quantity" but I wanted to post something this week so I decided to bring back an oldie but (hopefully) a goodie.

My inspiration has definitely been lacking in Oklahoma, especially since all I do is watch TV and go to work. I have no plans this weekend (except church on Sunday)... so let's hope that those two days re-energize me.

I still want to do a Q&A for my birthday next month! So far I have a grand total of.... zero questions. So if there's anything you want to know, drop it in the comments below.

10 Minute Arm Workout // I was officially asked to be a bridesmaid in my friend Erin's wedding. Because of that, I've been really stepping up my arm workout game! I used this video on Wednesday and I'm still so sore!! I know that means it's working, but dang I could barely use my arms that night. See more of my favorite at home workouts here.

Good Hearted Woman // I've been suuuuper into The Voice this year. I've never watched it before but I am 100% obsessed! I'm definitely Team Miley and Team Jennifer, but if I ever made it on the show and Miley turned... I would absolutely have to pick her. The chance to be coached by Hannah Montana? Come on!! Can't pass that up! Her team was all-female (until she stole a guy during battles) and they were all so great. This was one of my favorite battles her team did.

Homesickness in Adults // Now that the novelty of being in a new place with a new job has worn off a little, I've started to feel more and more homesick. As in, crying in the drive-thru line at Sonic because I remembered how I used to go with my college friends all the time. I'm thinking of writing a post specifically about my experiences, but for now, I've been referencing this article a lot. I think it's important to realize that being homesick is common, even in adults.

Corduroy Pants // Totally lusting over these cords. I'm really into boot cut jeans and think that these are the perfect mix of casual, but office-appropriate. Win/win! Fun fact about me: until about a year ago, I could never pronounce corduroy. I still have to say it pretty slowly, but at least it's not a jumble of letters and sounds anymore, haha!

Travel the World with NYT // I like my job a lot, but damn, the NYT just opened my dream job. Getting paid to travel, write, and take pictures for a year?! I mean seriously?! This is the dream! I totally wish I could apply, but I can't wait to follow along with whoever they do pick.

Have a great weekend!

  1. I totally get feeling homesick. Because I move so much (every 3 years on average) I get more homesick for people than I do places! It's a real thing!

  3. Girl, I get homesickness! I'm in my last semester of college, and I usually get a wave of it on the weekends. I think it's more just being bored than anything else, but it's still there!

  4. I need to step up my arm workout game. I feel like it is so easy so slack now that the weather is cold and I'm wearing sweaters.

  5. Awe i'm sorry you're homesick! I always think of the movie Garden State when I think about homesickness in adulthood - how we long for a place that eventually doesn't even exist anymore <3 It really taught me a lot about building "home" within

  9. I heard about that NYT job opening! I was super tempted to apply but I'm not a US citizen or a journalist sadly. What a crazy awesome opportunity though!

  12. I totally still get homesick, even though I'm married & moved out of my parents house! When we go on vacations or long trips, I still miss the comforts of home!
