May Goals

Okay.... how in the world is it already MAY?! April flew by! I was hoping to get around to post more, but I blinked and the month was over. I also really struggle with opening up my computer once I get home. After staring at it all day at my internship, it's the last thing I want to do when I get home! So here's to trying to write more in May, and here's to getting more than one post published this month!

Make a cinemagraph // This is a goal for work that I wanted to do in April... and I waited until the very last minute to get started. (Oops.) I want to perfect how to make them, and then be able to write a post for you all to learn too!

Read 2 books // I definitely didn't read as much as I wanted to this month either. Right now the two books I'm leaning toward this month are The Circle and The Handmaid's Tale, but I'm all ears for recommendations!

Start to think about my next step // I've been really struggling with "life after my internship." Do I go to grad school? Do I try to get into LAW SCHOOL? Do I forget all about this and move to Europe and never come back? Stay tuned. (And please give advice if you have any!)

Get really really real // I started this blog as a creative-diary-spill-my-guts-online-to-strangers platform and I think I've gotten too far away from that. Part of my goals for this year was to reevaluate the content I'm putting up here, and I think that my life experiences and lessons are relatable, but somehow aren't written about anywhere on the Internet. SO here goes nothing! Stay tuned for some totally unsolicited life advice :)

  1. My goal for this month is to read more too! I just started Firefly Lane and it's great so far!

Girl, that's awesome you are thinking about Law School! I took a business law class my senior year and absolutely loved it. I think Law School would be so fulfilling, but also Europe sounds like a blast too!

  9. The after-college decision is so tough! (This coming from someone who literally did more away to Europe after graduation — writing this from Amsterdam!) I think it's best to keep your options open and remember that you can always shuffle things around. You have, God willing, decades of life ahead of you. Not everything needs to happen right now! So apply for Law School or Grad School if it's important to you, but remember that you could also take a few years off to live somewhere else, work at a bar, work at a start-up, etc. You've got options! (:

    1. I think part of my biggest problems is thinking that I'm stuck in one way of life forever! Such great advice. (I'm also totally about to stalk you and read about Amsterdam!)

  12. I am so excited to watch (rather than read) Handmaid's Tale on Hulu! But coming from someone who rushes into grad school right after undergrad, it's ok if you take a year or so off! The only person who can decide what to do is you. If that path is important to you, and you know you won't want to go back to school once you're out for while, then consider going now so you don't have to worry about it. But if you know you'll go back, then go have some fun! Or take an extended summer Europe trip or something and go to school in the fall. Europe was a ton of fun when I went, so it's definitely something to put on your bucket list either way! I actually did a 2-week summer backpacking trip before I went off to grad school in Scotland, so if you need any tips I'm happy to help!
