Game Day

Y'all... waking up this morning was better than Christmas. It's FINALLY football season in South Carolina!! If you follow college football (closely or not closely) you probably know what the SEC is and let me tell you, college football is practically a religion down here. (Saturday's are spent at the stadium and Sunday's are spent in the chapel. It's true.)

For me, football season is like the official start to fall, even if it is still 100 degrees outside (and never really gets colder... I wore the same outfit to our first game last year that I wore to our last one in late November! Classic SC weather). I love everything about game day, despite the fact that our team is really not all that awesome. (But who knows, it's a new season!)

In honor of the return of one of my favorite seasons, I've compiled a few pictures from game day past to share with y'all. Keep scrolling until the end for a special surprise... ;)

Freshman year homecoming with Darius Rucker!!! He is a HUGE Gamecocks fan, along with the rest of Hootie! (Pardon the quality... iPhone 4s were still trendy.)

After beating Clemson for the 5th time an a row... A memory I will never forget.

Front row on College Game Day!!! Another memory that I will never forget. Through our sorority we were all able to get on the front row without having to sleep outside. Everyone hated us but it was so worth it. (I ended up getting claustrophobic and had a panic attack and had to leave early... but that's another story for another day!)

On the field after being named Carolina's #2 Fan! ;)

And last but not least, the beautiful sunset at the beginning of last season, before getting beat by Kentucky and having our worst season in years. But it's fine and I'm totally over it.

Since you made it to the end... I want to share my #1 fan entry video with y'all from sophomore year! I came in second place (as pictured above) but I'm proud of what I was able to do. I hope y'all enjoy!

Go Gamecocks!!!!

P.S. Sorry about the overuse of Y'ALL in this post! I joke with everyone and say that the only time I have a southern accent is when I'm talking about football! And it's not wrong, ha!

  3. YES! GO COCKS! I am pretty disappointed with this game (Vandy is showing us up) but I have faith we can turn it around this season. I graduated from USC in 2014. I miss attending football games so much! I got my parents season tickets this year (not the best year for those, sadly) and am so jealous that I can't go to any games since I live in the Midwest now...

  5. I'm so bummed my college doesn't have a football team. Being a fan in the stands for other sports just isn't the same.
