August Goals
I actually did an okay job at keeping my July goals! I settled into a decent routine, which was challenging since I don't have to leave for work until 4:30 in the afternoon, and I am in the process of downsizing my closet. (Any ADPi's out there who want tshirts from the University of South Carolina... hit me up!) I ended up stopping Grey's Anatomy after taking my job at RMH because going from an emotionally heavy show to a job that can be pretty emotionally taxing didn't really appeal to me. I miss it though, so hopefully I can start it up again! I also did a bad job at reading before bed. I think I need a book other than Gone with the Wind. I'm always down for a classic, and plan on finishing GWTW, but it's over 1,000 pages long and I'm halfway through and dragging. (I mean the Civil War is still going on! I can't take it much longer!) That being said, I love reading new books so please leave your suggestions in the comment section down below!
Create, and stick to, a workout schedule // On Sundays, I work 9AM - 10PM and on Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday I'll be in class from 8AM - 5PM before going to work from 5PM - 10PM. Working out and eating right is going to be so challenging, so all the more reason to make a schedule and stick to it. USC offers group exercise classes for $20 a semester, which is fairly cheap considering the classes offered. I loved participating last year (my favorites were Barre and Body Pump and cardio kickboxing!) so I'm really hoping that I can find classes that work for my schedule again this semester!
Start putting together a demo reel // It's August, which means that hopefully in five short months I will have a full-time media related job! SO CRAZY! This is something I have been meaning to do for a while so there's no time like the present.
Upload packages on this blog // One of the reasons I made this blog was to treat it as sort of an "online portfolio" of sorts. I had a blog earlier in the year, but it was mostly portfolio and the blog was cast to the side. I love love love this blog much more because my blog is front and center! Having an online presence is becoming such an important part of applying for media related jobs.
Start a bullet journal // On an unrelated note, I searched bullet journals on Instagram the other week and I really want to try one! I'm not sure how good I would be at taking the time each day or month to draw out a calendar or color in goal charts, but it might be a really nice way of relaxing at the end of a long day. I cleaned out my ADPi shirts and gifted them to my chapter (Theta Sigma- WCU in PA) before I moved out of my college apartment in May. Definitely hit up the t-shirt exchange on Facebook, you can make a few bucks.

I'm having such a difficult time finding a workout schedule since I have severe morning abdominal pain and usually can't even get out of bed most days before 10 or 11 :( I'm determined to figure out something that works for me though! Also, I've been hearing so much about bullet journaling - definitely want to look into it more! Good luck on your goals!

ReplyDeleteOkay. I need to get into working out regularly. Before I went on my trip this summer, I was working out 4-5 days a week. In the past 3 weeks, I've worked out 3 times. It's bad. Good luck with your goals!
