Oh man, what a week. TGIF! This week actually flew by for me. I spent most of my nights (literally) at the Ronald McDonald House, which was pretty fun because I got to bond that much more with the families staying here! And I learned that I am SUCH a bad cook! My job involves cooking dinner for the families and most of the time that just means heating up donated dinners (lasagnas, BBQ, etc.) but on Tuesday night I had to cook grits (for Brinner!) and it was so bad. I burned the entire batch of them and had to throw the whole pot out... Oops!
Last night was one of my good friend's 21st birthday parties! I love getting together to celebrate close friends! She loves everything pink and glitzy, so for dinner we went to a martini and fondue restaurant in Columbia before going out to the bars downtown. It was so much fun - though I'm definitely feeling the aftermath of all the chocolate fondue I consumed! ;)
Spaghetti Serving Size // You guys... this is so important. I definitely struggle when cooking pasta because I never know how to measure serving sizes properly! It's too funny that the answer has been in my kitchen drawer all this time! Definitely using this next time I cook pasta.
Team USA Girls // The first time I watched this video I had goosebumps all over my arms and legs. I think it's sooo good! Nothing quite like some good ol' girl power, am I right? I am a total dork about the Olympics. I literally cannot get enough of them. (I'm watching the trials while writing this!) I'm counting down the days until the Opening Ceremony in RIO!
Jennifer Aniston: For the Record // Guys... I love Jennifer Aniston and this essay made me love her so much more! I love how she is taking matters into her own hand and addressing untrue rumors. I don't understand tabloids and paparazzi and I honestly don't think I ever will. As someone who is studying to be a journalist they really just piss me off, since the #1 thing we are taught in school is to be honest in everything that we do!
Team USA Rise Up // Okay, two Team USA videos this week.... I cried like a baby watching this one!! The Olympics are the ultimate stage where athletes from literally all over show off their strengths, and subsequently, their weaknesses. You're tired and sore and nervous and so incredibly excited to be there. I cannot even imagine. I always say that if I ever won a gold medal I would be on the ground SOBBING.
